Hello, we are going to tell you step by step how we carry out your projects in El Claroscuro Films. Well, we are filmmakers, audiovisual directors, cinematographers and photographers inspired by art, cinema and the masters of chiaroscuro. We are an audiovisual and film production company for companies, personal brands and individuals.

In short; we are artists, and we bring to your audiovisual needs; our experience, knowledge, techniques, vision and cinematographic style.

Welcome to El Claroscuro Films

We will help you, with a small team, to achieve your goals through your audiovisual projects. We say small team because in reality it is not necessary to have a large number of people to get the expected results. We have proven that it works better if you concentrate talent and do a good job with it.

This is a quick summary of our resume prior to founding El Claroscuro Films. We have worked as directors of photography and art directors in music videos of Mónica Naranjo as “Perdida” and “Doble Corazón”, we have been directors of photography and lighting in the TV channel Al Jazeera Channel and beIn Sports in Doha (Qatar), we have been cinematography teachers in film school, we have made commercials, TV programs (international, national and regional), music videos, films, short films, big events, etc…

We will put all our experience, knowledge, techniques and filmmaking tools at your disposal. So that your message arrives in a narrative way, and is understood to perfection.

We will improve the image you project to others through your audiovisual projects. With that, the perception of others towards you will improve, with all that this will mean for you.

Creating the Cinematic Atmosphere

It is also very important to create an atmosphere around your story, message or idea. That’s why we take care of creating that narrative and cinematographic atmosphere that surrounds every shot we shoot; using all the resources and techniques we consider necessary such as lighting, wardrobe, colorimetry, staging, art, scenery, interpretation, direction, camera crew, editing… Everything counts (and never better said).

Filmmaking, Directing and Cinematographic Style

Our cinematographic vision, our narrative, aesthetic and visual criteria, combined with our equipment and experience, give your projects a cinematographic aesthetic look that is unique to El Claroscuro Films. And that makes it a powerful attraction that captures and retains the attention of your viewers.

But in addition, we apply the cinematographic language, which means telling the film taking into account the whole narrative. That is; the realization, that is to say, the position of the camera, the lenses to use, filters, lighting, creation of cinematographic atmospheres, sound design, soundtrack composition, color psychology, perspective, scenography, staging… We take care of using the necessary tools to tell and communicate your message, idea or story.

References in art

Our vision is influenced by our visual and artistic culture. Our main references are the masters of chiaroscuro: Caravaggio, DaVinci and Rembrandt above all. We also highlight painters such as Edward Hopper, whose works could well be stills from a good film story. Or José Benlliure Gil, a genre painter who made a truly spectacular use of chiaroscuro in some of his works.

References in the cinema

We have, of course, our references in the world of cinema and cinematography. Roger Deakins, Vittorio Storaro, Robert Richardson or Tom Stern as cinematographers whose style inspires and attracts us. And film directors like Clint Eastwood, Robert Zemeckis, Stanley Kubrick, Tarantino or Wong Kar-Wai that help us to tell, and enhance, your story visually, and narratively.

Pre-Production

Pre-production means getting and preparing everything necessary for the project to be perfect, always taking into account the final objective, the production value, the narrative, the storytelling and the aesthetic aspect.

It is in this phase where we prepare and take care of details such as costumes, colors, make-up, lighting (both natural and artificial), props, art, location, staging, rehearsals, tests, etc…

The value of production

It is vitally important to take care of the production value, no matter how small the project is. Because this value is directly proportional to the narrative and visual quality of the final result. The production value is to give each detail its real and necessary value, and not the circumstantial or casual. Production value influences details as important as the perfect choice of locations, art, light, props, etc. No detail should be neglected. Because, as in everything, details make the difference.

Filming and Equipment

Of course we take care of, carry out and direct the shooting of your project following the narrative, aesthetic and visual path marked. Always with the technical and human equipment according and proportional to your project: that is, camera equipment, drones, lighting, sound, extras, models, props, art, etc…

We use professional cinematographic equipment to obtain technical and artistic quality. Including drones and also action cameras to obtain aquatic and/or sports shots. We are able to do projects destined for cinema (real 4K DCI for big screen), streaming platforms, etc. In fact, our regular camera(Sony FX6 Cinema Line) is approved to be used in projects for platforms like Netflix or Prime. In any case, we use the right technical equipment proportional to the size and purpose of your project.

Editing and Editing

Editing, film editing and post-production we do it all. We follow the line of your brand, company, fiction or story in everything related to aesthetics and narrative in editing. Such as typographies, colors of logos, claims, etc.

If your project requires it, we will consider adding extra services that enhance and upgrade your story. Such as original music, professional dubbing voices, etc.

Final Destination

Of course there are no limits as to the final destination or objective of any audiovisual project made by us. For example, you can take your finished project to websites, Youtube, Vimeo, cinemas, televisions, digital platforms, displays and screens at conferences, fairs, demonstrations, exhibitions…

We adapt the project to the necessary resolutions, codecs and color profiles so you can take it anywhere.

Of course your project can be destined for the big screen, we would love nothing more!!! So if the case, contact us to prepare the project from start to finish taking into account everything you need to keep in mind to take your project to the big screen.

Delivery

We deliver the project according to your needs. But usually the delivery package includes:

• The project finished and optimized for its final target (Youtube, cinemas, digital platforms, TV, web, events, etc).
• Agreed deliveryformats (landscape, widescreen, etc.)
• Trailer and/or teaser of the main project (if applicable)
• Cover / film and art miniature adapted to delivery formats
• Photographs that we may have generated during the process (making-of, still photo, etc).

The final delivery is done digitally. We deliver the finished project (with the agreed revisions) packaged through a special secure, private and customized download web page for you. Or we deliver via download links from our WeTransfer Pro account.

And Beyond

And when the final project is delivered, we are still there with you even after all the audiovisual production of your project. Because it is possible that later on you may need a variation of the project, or a new copy with a different codec, resolution or format than the original.
